We hear a great deal from politicians these days about the growing dangers of Fascism, or even just Socialism. Political leaders throw the terms about as if the two were the same. Democratic Socialism is practiced successfully today by nearly every European Union country. But what about Fascism? It got its start a decade BEFORE Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, under Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.
Thanks for the history lesson. There are so many parallels to what is happening now in the US. Whenever I see people driving around in trucks with American and Trump flags it is a scary reminder that the fascist mentality is alive and dangerous. A cancerous hydra that continues to spread with the help of social media. Belief in democracy must be demoralized, then destabilized to bring us to our present state of crisis. There will be nothing normal if the fascist agenda wins out in the near future. The inability of government to function is no accident. Recent events in the Middle East have once again given a platform for bigotry and myopic mindsets to take hold. Folks must come to understand how dangerous and counter productive the authoritarian agenda is. Thanks again for your work.
